The Day of the Programmer is celebrated in Russia on the 256th day of the year, September 13th.
Number 256 was chosen due to the fact that this is an amount of whole numbers which may be expressed by one eight-bit byte, and also this is the maximum power of 2, being less than the number of days in a year – 365. To celebrate this day, a sporting and mass participation event “Championship 100” will be held at SUSU by the Institute of Natural Sciences.
The festival will begin with a dress parade of the participants. Teams of pupils of senior high schools, INS students, as well as professionals – IT companies and organizations ‑ will take part in this competition.
“Championship 100” is not a usual sports event, it will comprise competitions on computer mouse throwing, running with a desktop tower, “gorodki” or a knock-out game with computer mouse pads, as well as an “Unpack an Archive” contest.
You can come cheer or participate in the event to “Tsentralnyi” stadium at 98 Kommuny St. on September 16th at 15:00.
