“Being a Mentor is Prestigious!”: the SUSU School of Mentors Meets its New Recruits

The System of Student Mentors accepts tens of new members each year, ready to help first-year students over their first year of education.

The opening of the School of Curators was held on August 24th at 10:00 in the SUSU Conference Hall. Among the candidates were students of the second and senior years of various specialties.

“I entered the System of Student Mentors to help future first-year students adapt in the university. It was difficult for me personally at that time, and I decided that now I want to help such students. At the same time, I want to develop my skills and receive new knowledge to become the best mentor!” says second year student of the SUSU Institute of Law, Anastasiya Mannova.

This year, almost 400 applications were sent in for training in the school. Among the candidates, there are students who have participated in this program already. The students can look forward to lectures, seminars, and training sessions which will help the future mentors become as knowledgeable as possible about the university and the organization of team spirit.

“I’m happy because for the first time in the history of the SSM we took up an entire conference hall! I liked to see the bright eyes of these students. Their response and interest in this work was palpable. I think that the System of Student Mentorship is moving in the right direction and we can expect success!” says the head of the System of Student Mentors, Valeriya Chachina, sharing her emotions.
