On June 28th, discussions were held on the trajectories and trends of development for the intercultural dialogue between the peoples of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The reason for this was the recently-held round table at SUSU, entitled Russia and Kyrgyzstan: New Tendencies of Intercultural Dialogue in the Context of Regional Geopolitics.
The main organizer of this event was the fund for socioeconomic development Eurasian Association. The president of the fund, the SUSU vice rector of international activities, professor Viktor Katochkov, noted in his opening speech that culture is the object of clear attention from authorities in all civilized countries. It is given top priority when developing a country’s strategies. So culture, as a platform for fruitful cooperation, needs to be considered when strengthening international ties.
“Kyrgyzstan and Russia are active players in the Eurasian arena. This is confirmed by the consistent and fruitful Russo-Kyrgyz partnership, including in the sociocultural sphere,” noted Viktor Katochkov.
The deputy head of the Office of International Economic Activity of the Chelyabinsk Region Ministry of Economic Development, candidate of engineering sciences, associate professor Dmitriy Gluharev, added that even economic partnership between Russia and Kyrgyzstan can be called a continuation of a dialogue between cultures and civilizations. All of the participants of the discussion agreed that partnership between these two countries on various levels, especially on the deep, fundamental level of culture, can become the key to geopolitical stability across all of the central Asian region. Representatives of both countries must work in this area together. It is also important to execute the proper propaganda for partnership and common values – most importantly among the youth, as the new generation will form the future of these countries.
In realizing the project, state funds are being used that were allocated within a grant by decree from the President of the Russian Federation from 05.04.2016 #68-RP and based on a competition held by the National Charity Fund.
