IT-Planet 2016: Going into the Orbit of Information Technologies

Participant registration for the 10th Annual International Olympiad in Information Technologies, IT-Planet 2016/16 began on November 1^st on the world-it-planet.org site. This event is being held for the 10^th time. It supports active, talented young people and increases the quality of education and training for specialists in information technology.

The competition for this academic year is being held in the categories programming, mobile platforms, telecommunications, cloud computing and databases, open software security and robotics, digital creativity, and automated information systems.

All of the competitions within these categories have are practical areas of work which allows participants to better understand the needs of employers, become acquainted with representatives of the strongest IT companies, and take the first steps toward their successful careers. The best participants will be invited to complete work training, with further possibilities for employment by the competition’s partners.

This year the company AT Consulting is the general partner and sponsor for the IT Olympiad. The company maintains a leading position in the market of IT services in Russia and the CIS. Partners and organizers for the anniversary IT Olympiad also include such Russian and international IT market leaders such as IC, Cisco, Huawei, Intel, InterSystems, Oracle, SKB Kontur, GNU/Linukstenter, GK Korteksplyus, and other leading players in the market.

Students and young, educated specialists 26 years of age or younger living in any country around the world can become participants in the Olympiad. Participation in the competition is free, and the official language is Russian. The competition is being held with support from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and the Russian Ministry of Communications and Mass Media.

The competitions are being held throughout the school year in a few stages:

1. First selection stage (online testing) – December 1-25, 2016;
2. First selection stage (submissions) – December 1, 2016 – March 20, 2017;
3. Second selection stage (solving practical cases) – March 1st-20th;
4. International Final – May 26-29, 2017. The city hosting the international final is Sochi.
