September 23rd-25th at the SUSU “Science” Recreation Center the 1st International Practical Science Conference, “Dialogue of Eurasian Cultures” was held. Organizers for the conference included the Pushkin Institute methodological and academic center and the Russian as a Foreign Language department of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication (ILIC).
ILIC director, Lyudmila Shestakova, noted the significance of the conference and the importance of the issues being discussed. Among these issues was the modeling of speech behavior in international business communication, presented by doctor of philology, head of the RFL department, professor Elena Kharchenko.
The presentation on verbal presentation of altered states of consciousness by doctor of psychology, CSU professor Lyudmila Mesenyashina and specialist in academic methodology from the CSU Center of Testing and Language Preparation, Maria Nikonova, introduced a discussion. Professor of English from Unversidad de Guayaquil, Yana Inzhivotkina, took part in the conference with her topic - the use of idiomatic terms on the south cost of Ecuador in the province of Guayas.
Director of the Institute of Sociohumanitarian Sciences, Yelena Ponomareva, introduced participants to the works of G. Sadulaev, while the faculty of the department of Philosophy, represented by candidate of philosophy, Regina Penner, presented a unique project on the development of philosophy textbooks for foreign-language learners. Head of the Pushkin Institute, Yadviga Berezovskaya, and master’s student of the Kazan Federal University’s Institute of Philology and International Communication, Li Meitsi, discussed the unique characteristics of the Chinese linguistic worldview. Head of the SUSU Center of Testing and Language Preparation, Elena Doronina, spoke about the preparation of PhD students for the series of complex exams needed to receive a residence permit.
The organizers and participants hope for continued productive work and invite all those willing to participate in the conference next year.
