An IT-center will of European level will be created at the South Ural State University. It will be realized as part of program “Tempus” for the preparation of specialists in the information technology specialists.
Education in the center will be executed by international methodologies. In the course of a short period (72 hours) a person can be ‘retaught’ for the purposes of a concrete task. Currently in Russia it’s accepted to use a different approach, that is to prepare specialists of a wider profile, notes Igor Kaftannikov, associate professor of the Faculty of Electronic Computational Machines, coordinator of the “Tempus”.
“The goal of this project is to open centers which can prepare professional specialists in European techniques and methodologies. As it turns out, the European approach significantly differs from ours in that we try to teach the maximum, we use a ‘university’ approach, and Europeans have a more ‘exact’, specialized and concrete approach for a given workplace. Of course, in both cases, specialists receive a quality education,” said Igor, at a press-conference for media holding OTV “IT-specialists. European level of education in Chelyabinsk.”
The program includes the founding of ten more of such centers. Five of them will be based in Russian universities, and five more of them in universities of Kazakhstan.
The SUSU center will begin work in October. The majority of the training will be held in practical lessons. The lessons are planned for the evenings so that working specialists can also take part.
