On February 27 - 28 the Faculty of Pre-University Training of SUSU under the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Chelyabinsk region and the Information Center for Nuclear Energy of Chelyabinsk holds 26th regional competition of participants of the international program for the development of creative thinking and team cohesion ‘Odyssey of Mind’.
More than 30 teams from Chelyabinsk, Asha, Kopeysk, Miass, Satka, Bakal, Mezhevoy, Ozersk, Snezhinsk, Magnitogorsk, Kremenkul will present their inventive problem solving with more than one correct solution.
The jury will see the vehicles that move between the two ecosystems and participate in garbage recycling, unusual technical devices for fishing, viral spread of morality of one of Aesop's fables, humorous ideas on friendship of animals and animated objects, and of course weightless constructions from balsa wood which can withstand a load several hundred times bigger than their weight.
The youngest competitors will be the pupils of the kindergarten No. 93 from Chelyabinsk and educational center ‘Umka’ from Miass. The oldest competitors will be the students of South Ural State University.
During the competition everyone will be able to take part in the power engineering game room from the Information Centre for Atomic Energy and spinner-training for spontaneous competition. Best teams in the area will show the best of inventive problem solving and compete for the unique cup for outstanding creativity on Sunday, February 28, in the assembly hall of the University.
Tutors of the open University of Talents of the Republic of Tatarstan who will learn about the Odyssey of Mind as the one of the most effective ways of working with gifted children will be the guests of the competition.
