SSMS Siemag AG Executive Vice-President, Pino Tese held his first seminar for the Master's Degree students of the "Machines and Materials Pressure Processing" Department of SUSU Physics and Metallurgy faculty as a regular lecturer.
Mr. Tese was given a SUSU employee pass by the head of the Department,Vicktor Sherkunov, who introduced the new lector to the students and wished them to get maximum possible benefit from the seminars with the top-specialist.
Pino Tese, an engineer by degree, has studied metallurgy in and out during his 20-year work at German plants. During the last 14 yeas he is a Vice-President at SMS Siemag AG, which is now actively developing its business in Russia and CIS-countries. According to Mr. Tese, the Urals is a place of particular interest to them, as it is here, on the territory between Magnitogorsk and Nizhniy Tagil, that 50% of the Russian steel is produced.
'I can assure you, we're constantly striving for growth and development, opening new offices and business profiles, taking up new staff,' Mr. Tese noted, 'However, apart from a successful academic record one should have a good command of oral and written English language. Of course, it is not and obligatory requirement to be able to work in our company, but if one is incapable of speaking English, it will be tough for him to communicate with his colleagues".
The seminar today was on "Modern ways of Continuous Steel Casting. Technological complexes of CC machines - rolling mill". The Master's students were told about the mini-plant and casting-and-rolling complexes concept. It is planned that such seminars will be held once a month. The major peculiarity is that the students will be presented the examples of the latest world technology illustrating the connection between the theoretical knowledge and its industrial application.
