On New Year's Eve the students of Commodity Science and Consumer Products Inspection Department of SUSU Trade and Economic Faculty - Artem Ponomarev, Master's Degree student of "Quality Management", Valeria Tatarinova, fourth-year student, and Svetlana Shaykhullina, fifth-year student, came back from China. During one semester these students have been studying at Zhejiang Ocean University (Zhoushan, People's Republic of China) within the exchange education program.
South Ural State University has been cooperating with Zhejiang Ocean University for a long time, in particular, the universities cooperates within the programs of academic mobility.
In the course of this semester the students got acquainted with the latest technologies of processing and inspection of different kinds of fish and seafood, studied the peculiarities of water expert analysis, got an opportunity to compare the effectiveness of teaching methods in Russia and China, mastered their business English, started to learn Chinese and, finally, travelled around the country of ancient culture. Besides Zhoushan the students visited Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo.
Besides the theoretical basis the course included a lot of hours of practical training. In the laboratories of Zhejiang Ocean University, equipped with the advanced equipment, the students took an active part in the identification processes of different kinds of fish and also identification of their genetac traits on the base of DNA studying. Also the participants of the program visited several high-technology production plants such as tuna processing plant.
The results of the semester of exchange education program can be seen in the certificates. These certificates the students can use in the course of their further educational and professional activity.
