Day of Practical Training at Mass Media Department of SUSU Faculty of Journalism is a traditional event which gives an opportunity for the students to tell about their practical training, share the acquired experience and learn about new tendencies in work of journalist. Within the framework of this event the students took part in journalist contest "On the Waves of Summer Practical Training" and represented their reports at academic and research conference "Students Training in Professional Coordinates System".
This year the geography of students' training has become much broader. The students-journalists have undergone their training not only in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Chelyabinsk but also outside the Russian Federation, in Czech Republic, Israel, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the USA... About the last place of training we need to go into details. Roman Baranov, student of Mass Media Department, this summer has been to Hollywood where he took part in filming. This very fact inspired the organizers of "Day of Practical Training" to have the event in style of Oscar Award. Roman Baranov and Vsevolod Chinilov, anchors of the event, open the 6th ceremony "On the Waves of Summer Practical Training" in English under the fanfares of 20th Century Fox Film Corporation. Red carpet, golden statuettes, cameras' flashes and endless applause. The best students were awarded in that way.

The traditional contest of journalistic works "On the Waves of Summer Practical Training" determined the laureates and winners in different nominations.
