SUSU Signed Cooperation Agreement with University of Kyrgyzstan

The cooperation of South Ural State University with Osh State University of Kyrgyzstan began in 2015. It was then, on August 18, that the first cooperation agreement was concluded between SUSU and OshSU. On March 27–28, 2019, the universities took part in the Forum of Rectors of Russian and Kyrgyzstan Universities.

South Ural State University has launched new Master’s programmes this year which expands the possibilities for development for specialists in the global arena. The unique programmes in political science and management are offered by the Department of International Relations, Politology, and Regional Studies of the SUSU Institute of Linguistics and International Communications.

Every year many students from around the world come to South Ural State University. Iraq, Iran, Bangladesh, Egypt, Sri Lanka, to mention just a few countries from the list.

This year, we expect more than 700 students from 56 countries; those are the enrolees who applied for studies in various levels of education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, postgraduate, Specialist programmes, and programmes of the Faculty of Pre-University Education. Many students come as part of the international exchange programmes.

SUSU Sends Nowruz Congratulations to its International Students

The South Ural State University International Office and the South Ural Association of International Students offered their congratulations on the coming of spring.

Nowruz is the main holiday for many peoples in Asia, signifying the coming of spring and the New Year by the Iranian solar calendar. It coincides with the day of the vernal equinox, which falls each year on March 20-21, and symbolizes the beginning of a new life and the renewal of nature.

Austrian Scientist from Leading Metallurgical University Visited SUSU

Professor of the Leoben University for Mining, Metallurgy, and Materials, Austria, Head of the Department of Metallurgy, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering) and author of 420 scientific publications Johannes Schenk visited South Ural State University. Dr. Schenk is an Executive Technical Officer of a big Austrian Competence Centre dealing with innovation developments in technological and manufacturing processes for European metallurgical companies. He delivered a lecture on possibilities and prospects of research in modern metallurgical sector for the SUSU staff and postgraduates.

Oriental Poetry Day Celebrated at SUSU

Last week a delegation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ekaterinburg paid a visit to South Ural State University. The occasion for the visit was the Oriental Poetry Day.

“We Are All Different, but We Are Together” International Festival to Be Held at SUSU

The 6th International Festival entitled We Are All Different, but We Are Together will be held at South Ural State University on February 25-27, where students of different nationalities studying at SUSU will take part.

The festival is organized annually by the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications with the support from the Sociocultural Adaptation Centre.

SUSU International Students Celebrated Valentine’s Day

On February 14th, the SUSU Sociocultural Adaptation Centre offered interactive games for international students at the Sigma academic building. The event was dedicated to Valentine’s Day.

Preparations for the event began in the beginning of February: volunteers of the Sociocultural Adaptation Centre prepared blank valentines to be sent and a mailbox. The organizers also made a big, beautiful sign, where students could profess their love.

SUSU Discussed Prospects of Collaboration in Digitalization with SMS Group Management

The executive managers and representatives of SMS Group, Germany, a well-known metallurgical equipment manufacturing company, visited South Ural State University to discuss the development of cooperation. During the visit of the SUSU partners, the agreements were reached on the next joint steps in cooperation in the field of technological processes digitalization.

Collaboration with Uzbekistan Opens Great Opportunities

On January 29th, a delegation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ekaterinburg paid a visit to South Ural State University. The goal of the visit was to discuss the prospects of collaboration. Among the delegation members were Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ekaterinburg Abdusalom Khatamov and First Secretary of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ekaterinburg Bekzhon Kuvanov.

SUSU Listed in the Times Higher Education Ranking by Subject in the Physical Sciences Category for the First Time

Times Higher Education international rankings agency continues to publish the results of the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2020.

This year, for the first time, South Ural State University has been included in the THE Physical Sciences ranking by subject, where it took the position 801+ among the world universities training specialists in the fields of mathematics, physics, astronomy, chemistry, nanotechnologies, Earth sciences, etc.

SUSU to Hold URAL FEST International Students Forum

A big-scale URAL FEST International Students Forum on training international students in Russian universities will be held at South Ural State University November 14th through November 16th, 2019.

This event will bring together students and alumni from different countries, who chose the Ural Federal District universities to gain prestigious higher education. The forum will touch upon burning issues faced by international students.

Alumnus Mohammed Al Kadim: “SUSU Has a Good Reputation in Iraq”

In October of 2019, South Ural State University signed an agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Republic of Iraq. A memorandum on mutual understanding which assumes an extension of cooperation in the spheres of higher education as well as in research, scientific-and-technical and innovative activities of Russia and Iraq has been signed. A considerable role in this belongs to the fact that the university alumni – Iraqi – actively recommend the university to soon-to-be students of their country.

SUSU Takes Part in an International Exhibition by the European Association for International Education Held in Helsinki

South Ural State University has become a participant at the 31st annual conference held by the European Association for International Education (EAIE Conference and Exhibition 2019).
