South Ural State University is continuing to successfully develop partnerships with Chinese universities. The Ministry of Education of China has proposed to establish novel joint educational organizations of a new format within their country. They will involve development of academic programs with Russia. This is why our colleagues from China are interested in making contacts with Russian universities and in establishing new, promising academic contacts with SUSU.
A team of activists representing SUSU’s South Ural Association of International Students took part in the international student forum called Eurasia Global which took place on August 12th through 17th in Orenburg.
A project called “A SUSU International Student’s Tutor” is actively developing at South Ural State University. This project has been organised within the International Student Support of SUSU’s International Office.
Students and postgraduates of South Ural State University are invited to participate in the contest for the Russian Federation Presidential Scholarship for studying abroad.
A seminar by the representatives of Times Higher Education (THE) ranking agency will be held at South Ural State University on June 19th. The experts in the assessment of development of the world’s universities will share with the SUSU staff on the university promotion in the scientific and education space.

RAEX (RAEX-Analitika) ranking agency has published an annual rating of the best 100 universities of Russia, in which South Ural State University has climbed 4 places up, as compared to the last year's results.
Lecturer of the SEM Industrial Economics and Project Management Department Anna Dolinskaya and two associate professors of the SEM Department of Management, Yana Dobrynina and Aleksandr Demchenko, completed an internship for teachers at Danubius University’s Faculty of Economics (Galati, Romania) under the Erasmus+ program in May 2019.
At South Ural State University, students of the Theory and Practice of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language professional re-training course completed the defence of their final projects.
From May 25th through 30th of 2019, a SUSU delegation officially visited a number of schools and universities in Tajikistan. The programme included visits to secondary schools and higher education institutions in Dushanbe, Gissar, Nurek, and Bokhtar. The main goal of the trip was to tell Tajik university and school students about the advantages of studying at SUSU and to invite them to our university.
African Culture Day is to take place at South Ural State University on April 26.This holiday, organised by SUSU students from African countries, is to be held at the Activity Hall for the second time.
SUSU actively develops cooperation with African countries. Presently, there are more than 30 students studying at SUSU and representing 11 African countries: Guinea, Angola, Cameroon, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Students from these countries will present their culture and perform national songs and dances.
On April 22nd and 23rd, the 5th International Festival “We Are All Different, but We Are Together” will be held at South Ural State University, in which SUSU students of various nationalities will participate.
Every year, the festival is organized by the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications with the support from the Sociocultural Adaptation Centre.
On April 11 of 2019, teaching-and-learning specialist of SUSU's Pushkin Institute Research, Education and Coordination Centre, Tatiana Beloglazova, made a speech at a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, A.I. Denisov. In the course of a formal conversation, a presentation of SUSU’s Pushkin Institute Partnership Network was held.
On April 13th of 2019, the Nationwide Dictation Quiz, an international literacy testing campaign was held. At South Ural State University, 255 international participants took the TruD test.
Moreover, among the active participants of this year’s Nationwide Dictation Quiz were the SUSU partner universities from the Pushkin Institute network: 57 participants took the test at Tianjin Foreign Studies University, 11 people – at Beijing Language and Culture University, and 10 students – at Zhejiang University of Foreign Languages.
On April 12, teaching and learning specialist at SUSU’s Pushkin Institute Research, Education and Coordination Centre, Tatiana Beloglazova, awarded Calligraphy Contest winners at the Pushkin Institute Centre, opened by SUSU at Beijing Language and Culture University in November of 2018 in the frameworks of the Education Development programme, supported by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, within the project entitled “ Establishment and development of a network of Pushkin Institute Centres in
Day of Arab Culture was held at South Ural State University. Representatives of ten countries introduced the audience to the history and traditions of the Arab world and gave colourful performances.
Day of Arab Culture is one of the unique events at SUSU which aims to strengthen international collaboration among the representatives of different countries. Rector Aleksandr Shestakov told us that next year the university will be able to accept even more international students.
A meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa took place at South Ural State University. The delegation included the Minister Plenipotentiary of the South African Embassy in the Russian Federation, Henry William Short, and Secretary of the Embassy’s Political Division, Bender Gunter.

South Ural State University provides its students, academic and administrative staff with all the opportunities not only for self-fulfilment, but for proper rest as well. They can recharge their batteries being away from the hustle and bustle of the city and get positive vibes in a pleasant atmosphere at the SUSU’s “Nepryakhino” Sports and Recreation Complex, which has been functioning for more than 60 years now.
A celebration of Nowruz was held at South Ural State University. SUSU international students from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan performed their folk songs and dances and introduced the audience to the traditions of greeting spring and the New Year by the solar calendar.
February 26 through March 2, delegation from South Ural State University made an official visit to Uzbekistan. Previously, by the results of the Russian-Uzbek Educational Forum entitled “New Employees for the New Economy” which was held in Tashkent on October 18 and 19 of 2018 and featured Presidents of both Russia and Uzbekistan, a final resolution has been published. This resolution states the necessity to establish branch institutions of Russian higher education institutions in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
South Ural State University took part in the 4th Annual National Exhibition and Presentation entitled “EXPO – 2019 Russian Educational Exhibition” held in the capital of Mongolia, the city of Ulan Bator. Represented at the Exhibition were leading higher education institutions and secondary vocational education institutions of Russia.
On March 15, a ceremonious awarding of winners of Russian language contests took place in Sigma academic building. Students from China got awarded with certificates and memorable prizes.
In 2018-2019 academic year, students from People’s Republic of China took part in four Russian language contests: Russian Writing Contest, International Online Olympiad on Russian as a Foreign Language, a contest of projects called “Russian Language in the Sphere of Digital Transformations”, and a photography contest called “Russia and China: Country – Language – Culture”.
On March 21st a celebration of Nowruz will be held at South Ural State University. The attendees will learn about the traditions of the Turkic peoples and will see the performances by SUSU international students in national garments.
Nowruz is the most important holiday of the year for many nations in Asia celebrating the coming of spring and of the New Year under solar calendar. It coincides with the vernal equinox, which falls on March 20th-21st every year, and symbolizes the beginning of new life and nature rejuvenation.
