An annual regional “Young Specialists Are Builders of the Future” Forum has for the first time been organized at South Ural State University in Chelyabinsk on April 22nd and 23rd. This event facilitates the dialogue between students and employers, and helps see the promising directions for growth and development within one’s profession. Besides university students, senior year school pupils, students of secondary vocational schools and teachers of schools, vocational schools and universities are invited to participate in this forum.
The goals of this meeting include the forming of qualified personnel in the construction industry, personnel reserve in industrial worker jobs, increasing the prestige of the profession of a military builder (installer), professions of the construction industry, housing and utility sector and industrial manufacturing.
At the opening ceremony of the “Young Specialists Are Builders of the Future” Forum in the university Assembly Hall creativity numbers were performed by the university’s Ladies Band vocal group and the SUSU’s contemporary dance team Deep Vision.
Welcome words were offered by Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Sergey Muzychenko, Deputy Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Andrei Faleichik, Head of the Centre for Educational Activity Competences of the Russian Federation Ministry of Construction Irina Minina, and other guests of honour.
A hallmark event within this forum was the signing of an agreement on collaboration for the purpose training highly qualified specialists for the construction industry between the Director of the Chelyabinsk Power Engineering College named after S.M. Kirov Vera Borodina and Director of the Centre for Construction Competences Irina Khoptiar.
A job fair was held as part of the youth forum, where more than twenty big companies of our region offering jobs in the construction sphere were working.
“A job fair is a place where students can learn about the sector-related companies, communicate with employers, and learn about their plans for development and job offers,” commented Head of the Centre for Educational Activity Competences of the Russian Federation Ministry of Construction Irina Minina. “The fair is organized so that students of the sector-related academic programmes could be aware of and understand that there are interesting and paid jobs for them in our region.”
Representatives of the following organizations presented their companies before the future specialists: Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure of the Chelyabinsk Region, group of companies Novator, Magnitostroy, Stroymekhanizatsiya, Vysota, OOO NIISTROM (Research Institute for Construction Materials), NIKS Construction Company, EnergoProgress energy installation company, AO SZ South Ural Corporation of Residential Development and Mortgage Loans (YuU KZhSI), AO Chelyabzheldorproekt, NATSPROEKTSTORY Infrastructure Company, ISTOK Engineering and Construction Company (Rosatom), Fund for Capital Repairs of the Chelyabinsk Region, Lemana PRO construction shop, and other enterprises.
“For thirteen years now our company has been engaged in capital repairs of multi-apartment buildings and has accumulated best practices in this field,” shared HR specialist at Novator company Zhanna Chupakhina. “For our young specialists we can provide a quality base of knowledge and experience exchange so that they could feel comfortable in the new profession after graduation from a vocational institution or university. Today our company offers jobs for design engineers and site supervisors (foremen). We can hire people with no work experience. The main thing is their striving for professional growth and willingness to learn. We will provide all the necessary conditions for our employees’ development.”
The most interest among students was sparked by the stands of NATSPROEKTSTORY company, Istok affiliated company of Rosatom, Novator company, and the Fund for Capital Repairs of the Chelyabinsk Region. Students could leave their contacting information for further interaction with representatives of the companies.
“I liked both the youth forum itself and also the fact that employers were present here, as they could help with employment and taking internships,” shared student of the SUSU Institute of Architecture and Construction Elizaveta Zubachek. “I’m planning on working in this profession, so this forum is a great opportunity for self-fulfilment. I would like to be called back with job offers from the region’s Ministry of Construction and Rosatom’s Istok company. I hope they notice my applications.”
Day one of the main youth construction forum of Russian wrapped up with a Construction Quiz, where students at an interactive platform could answer the sector-related questions. Those who gave the quickest and most competent answers received souvenirs from the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation.
