Description of the educational program:
The graduates who have majored in Computational and Mathematical Linguistics at postgraduate level will be able to fulfil their potential in the field of research and teaching in philology, linguistics, as well as in related fields of studies in the arts and humanities. Classical education in the humanities, combined with mathematical competence and applied skills, will allow the graduates to easily adapt to new activities while creatively using the acquired competencies.
During postgraduate studies, the students will fully master competencies of scientific, critical and creative thinking and applied skills. They will have an opportunity to conduct research on the development of formal models and algorithms for natural language processing; will design knowledge bases to empower artificial intelligence solutions by linguistically relevant data; master modern methods of linguistic data acquisition (including experimental data), their instrumental and statistical analysis and processing with the use of innovative information technologies, and will learn techniques for using these data to solve problems in the field of computational linguistics. They will participate in scientific and practical conferences and grant research; prepare their dissertation for defence; will be able to plan their professional career; and learn to work in a team of Russian and international researchers.
