Южно-Уральский государственный университет занял 33-е место среди вузов России по версии международного журнала Nature (Природа). Эксперты оценивали достижения учёных вуза в области науки, в частности результаты публикационной активности. 

Журналом также составлен сводный рейтинг вузов и научно-исследовательских учреждений России. В нём ЮУрГУ занимает высокое 45-е место. Оценивалась активность таких научных центров, как Российская академия наук (РАН), наукоград Сколково, МГУ, МФТИ, Курчатовский институт, а всего в рейтинг попали 184 российских организации. 

South Ural State University has taken the 33rd place among Russian universities according to Nature international journal. Experts assessed the achievements by the university researchers in science, in particular the results of their publication activities. 

Whatever the students’ practical training, its goals always remain the expansion, systematization and consolidation of theoretical knowledge, acquired while studying academic disciplines, in the process of professional activity itself. The same goes for students at the Institute of Engineering and Technology of South Ural State University.

The developers of the South Ural State University focused on economic efficiency, ease of production and use of new environmentally friendly sorbents, which will reduce industrial costs for cleaning contaminated water by tens of times.
