SUSU Present New Technologies at the Russian Festival Technosreda 2021

South Ural State University participated in the Technosreda festival in Moscow September 25th-26th. The event brought together leading representatives of the Russian scientific community: researchers, research and technology companies, universities, and research institutes.

Scientists from the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology and School of Medical Biology offered presentations and demonstrated innovative developments aimed at combating environmental problems.

Vladimir Shepelev, Candidate of Sciences (Engineering), spoke about the AIMS-Eco dynamic system of intelligent emission monitoring and presented it at the festival.

"Our information system is based on the use of neural networks and artificial intelligence. Real-time analysis and forecasting of vehicular emissions data is based on the collection and interpretation of live video streams from street cameras. This technology makes it possible to quickly deploy a wide network of digital posts to monitor and predict vehicular emissions," commented Vladimir Shepelev

Postgraduate student of the Department of Electrical Engineering Ivan Chuyduk demonstrated a model of an in-wheel motor for a hybrid car to the audience. This device can reduce the size of the electronic control system and place it in the wheel, freeing up space for the electric car’s battery.

"I really liked the festival. SUSU presented its projects in Moscow in a bright and interesting way. This festival was an excellent platform to gain new business acquaintances and potential partners for our projects," said Ivan Chuyduk.

Irina Potoroko, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), presented a project on biodegradable plastic. The goal of the project is to reduce polymer waste and switch to environmentally-friendly biological materials.
