About the Department

Areas of study and training: Track and Field; Orienteering; Volleyball, men; Volleyball, women; Kickboxing; Boxing; Ice hockey; Skiing; Aeromodelling; Strength sports; Basketball, men; Basketball, women; Fighting; Chess. The department of sports improvement was established on 1 January, 2005 (order #124 of 27.12.2004) by decision of Board of Studies of SUSU (proceedings #4 of 27.12.2004).  It prepares high achieving sportsmen, members of SUSU teams of popular kinds of sport. All the university students are trained by the department. It offers the following disciplines: physical education and pedagogical physical education and sports improvement. The department trains more than 700 students of SUSU in 21 kinds of sport. The classes are held in 9 specialized gyms, in the swimming pool, athletic arena of SUSU training complex, hockey stadium and in the neighboring park. Our teaching staff joins 29 people and includes 3 employees, 1 Professor, 3 Associate Professors, Teachers and Head Teachers, 5 Candidates of Sciences, 2 Merited Coaches of Russia, A level students, honored workers of physical culture of Russia, and Masters of Sports. The department cooperates actively with the SUSU Physical Education and Sports Club whose priority task is to provide students of higher education institutions with all the necessary sports equipment and facilities. SUSU Sports Club together with the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports is best place for student practical training where they serve as teaching assistants in various sports specializations. Main areas of work: equipment and organization of training process according to the chosen kind of sports; participation of university teams in the competitions of different levels (regional, all Russian); SUSU Spartakiad (33 kinds of sports); Faculties Spartakiad; Campus Spartakiad. Results of our work: prizes and winners of competitions of different levels (regional, Russian, international, Olympic games) involving thousands of students into university sport life  an opportunity to continue sport career by studying at “non-sport” faculties students’ sports victories as the university PR Since the foundation, the Department of Sports Improvement has prepared more than 10 Masters of Sports of International Class, more than 30 Master of Sports and about 100 Candidate Masters of Sports. Department’s educational process goes in the following directions: pedagogical conversations, lectures and individual approach to each student in the groups of sports improvement; work with sports students living on campus; work with students who chose the specialization “Coaching”; participation in volunteer clean up; holding competitions promoting healthy life style. All our Teachers and Coaches are responsible for all the work mentioned above to the head of the Department and report the results at department meetings. Sports activities are the best platform for character building and health improvement. Great attention is paid to promoting the movement called Fair Play. I addition, our coaching teachers pay great attention to promoting healthy way of living which is the fundamental of high achievements in sports. The best sportsmen are awarded sports scholarships. Members of SUSU teams participating in different competitions and training programs study according to their individual schedule and pass their midterm exams later. Our students are given certificates and letters of appreciation for high achievements in university sports life. Our teachers cooperate with sports schools, Federations and Centers of Olympic Training.

Practical Training

Our students undergo practical traineeship in departments of Rembyttekhnika company, beauty salons and hairdressers’, interior and furniture design studios, creative workshops, dress-making and tailoring establishments and sewing enterprises of Chelyabinsk and Chelyabinsk region, and in department’s laboratories.

Programmes and Specializations

Nowadays, the department offers two directions of Bachelor Degree programmes:  43.03.01 (100100) «Service» (full-time mode — specializations «Household equipment service», «Fashion industry service», part-time mode — «Beauty industry service», « Household equipment service », « Fashion industry service »).  29.03.04 (261400) «Technology of Material Art Processing» (specialization «Technology of art processing of non-standard materials» — full-time and part-time modes). The following programmes still offer their educational courses: 100101 «Service» (specializations «Household equipment service», «Service at hairdressing and cosmetic enterprises»), 261001 «Technology of material art processing », 260901 «Technology of sewing products», 260902 «Sewing products design».

Laboratories

The department combines 14 laboratories equipped with modern facilities: laboratory of sewing tools and equipment; laboratory of household equipment; laboratory of household equipment production; hall of drawing and painting; laboratory of arts and crafts; laboratory of art textile processing; laboratory of material art painting; laboratory of knitting and embroidery; laboratory of weaving and tapestry; laboratory of sculpture; laboratory of machine embroidery; laboratory of design; educational sewing laboratory; educational and industrial sewing laboratory.

Department Today

Nowadays, the department offers two directions of Bachelor Degree programmes: 43.03.01 (100100) «Service» и 29.03.04 (261400) «Technology of material art processingв»,  and offers the following courses: 100101 «Service» (specializations «Household equipment service», « Service at hairdressing and cosmetic enterprises »), 261001 «Technology of material art processing», 260901 «Technology of sewing products », 260902 «Sewing products design ». The head of the department is Viktor Abramovich Livshits, Candidate of Sciences (Engineering), honored worker of higher professional education of Russia, member of the Presidium of the Educational and Methodical Association of Higher Educational Institutions of Russia in the field of Service and Tourism at the Russian State University of Tourism and Service (Moscow); member of Council of Educational and Methodical Association of Higher Educational Institutions of Russia in the field of Material Art Processing Technology and Metrology at Moscow State University of Instrument Engineering and Computer Sciences. Viktor Abramovich is the author of more than 100 scientific and educational works and 17 inventions. Department’s teaching staff includes 1 Doctor and 5 Candidates of Sciences, 2 Members of Russian Union of Designers, and members of Russian and international academies and associations (Ural Society of Aesthetic Medicine Specialists, Aesthetic Medicine Society, Russian Society of Dermatovenerologists and Cosmetologists, European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology, ATypl). Our students and teachers take part in the leading Russian and international competitions, exhibitions and events. The year 2013 was very exciting and eventful: Biennial of Poster, La-Paz, Bolivia; international student poster competition in Skopje (Macedonia); 5th competition Poster for Tomorrow, France; competition Adobe Design Achievement Awards (USA); typography video festival Typomania’13; poster exhibition Mayakovsky’120; student design competition Post It Awards 2013; arts and crafts competition in Aktobe (Kazakhstan); dress designer competition Fashion Designer of the Year, 2013; competition The Dress of the City, 2013 and others. Department’s students and teachers present their works at the regional exhibitions held by Chelyabinsk regional branch of the Russian Union of Artists, Chelyabinsk State Museum of Local History; and abroad: in Moulins (France), Berlin (Germany), Sofia (Bulgaria), Podgorica (Montenegro), Brno (Czech Republic). The department collaborates with other organizations and realizes various joint projects, for example: Transregional Olympiad of Secondary School Students Prelestnitsa is set together with the Palace of Pioneers and Pupils named after Krupskaya; coaching programme in the framework of Adobe Design Achievements Awards by invitation of international council Icograda. 

Center of Additional Education

In modern complicated world one has a unique chance to improve his/her competitiveness at the labor market by means of additional education. People having more than one specialization are much more likely to find the job, not only because of wider search range, but due to the ability to apply their knowledge obtained during additional educational courses in their primary profession. It is remarkable when a person with engineering specialization skilled in logical thinking brought up by exact sciences undergo additional courses to develop visual, associative way of thinking. The Center of Additional Education of the Faculty of Service and Tourism offers persons with high and secondary vocational education the opportunity to improve their skills by attending the following retraining programmes: 1. Enterprise Economics and Management During two years, our students obtain knowledge and skills in management; economics of branch and enterprise; accounting; financial and credit sector; marketing; organization, rating and compensation of labor of enterprises; analysis and diagnostics of financial and economic activity of enterprises; economic evaluation of investments; financial management; planning at an enterprise. Our Teachers are highly qualified specialists of SUSU; the classes are equipped with modern computers and all the necessary software. The programme finishes with passing state exam and term papers presentation. The graduates are given the CERTIFICATE OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT of the state sample which allows conducting professional activity in management of economics, industry and social development of enterprises of all forms of ownership. 2. Production of Art Objects from Textile Materials During 2 years of learning, the students obtain knowledge in the fields of surface anatomy, drawing and painting, art and graphic composition, history of fashion and clothing, fashion and textile design, clothing composition and graphics, decoration, draping method of clothes modeling. Our Teachers are highly qualified specialists: dress designer, graphic artist and member of the Union of Designers I.V. Sokolova; one of the prominent clothes designers of individual figure T.P. Golubeva and others. The programmes are finished with passing state exam and term papers presentation. The graduates are given the CERTIFICATE OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT of the state sample, which allows conducting professional activity in the field of design and manufacture of clothes. If you wish to broaden your knowledge in the field of clothes design, the Center offers you the following programmes of additional professional education (advanced training): «Clothes design at home» (3 months); «Clothes design» (7 months); «Design of sophisticated clothes» (3 months); «”Clothes graphics”,  Studio of I.V. Sokolova, Member of Russian Union of Designers» (3 months); «Human figure» (3 months). Graduates of the programme are given the CERTIFICATE OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT of the state sample. What if you are not interested in clothes design? We invite you to develop your potential and skills in arts at the following programmes of additional professional education (advanced training): «”Graphic Design Basics”, Studio of I.V. Sokolova, Member of Russian Union of Designers» «Interior design» (3 months). «Interior modeling in graphics software» (3 months). «Fundamentals of composition and color science» (3 months). «Modern finishing materials» (3 months). «Pargeting» (3 months). «Textile and Decorative Elements of interior» (3 months). «Ceramics» (3 months). «Fabrics dying (batik)» (3 months). The knowledge obtained during the programme is applied in adds development, design of books, brochures and posters, project development and interior design. What is more important, you acquire visual, creative and associative way of thinking which helps you greatly in solving application tasks of any kind. 1. Physical Therapy  Course goal – obtaining the fundamentals of physical therapy and acquiring private methods of application of physical therapy means and procedures in treating different diseases and traumas. Target audience – persons with higher and secondary vocational education.  Period - 144 hours. Study mode – full-time. Schedule – full-time lessons during one month: 6 hours a day, 6 days a week, 36 hours a week. Areas of professional activity: practicing instructor or teaching instructor of physical therapy in different preventive treatment institutions; practicing specialist in the field of recreational technologies; teaching and coaching different groups of people with health deviations (children, elderly, disabled people, sportsmen);  physical therapy for yourself and your family/relative people. Start – October-December and February-May (as long as groups are being formed). 2. Massage Course goal – advanced training in the field of massage. Target audience – persons with secondary and higher physical or Medical education. Period – 144 hours. Study mode – full-time. Schedule – full-time lessons during one month: 6 hours a day, 6 days a week, 36 hours a week. Areas of professional activity: practicing massage therapist in different preventive treatment institutions; practicing specialist in the field of health improving technologies; practicing massage therapist working with different groups of people with health deviations (children, elderly, disabled people, sportsmen);  self-massage and massage for your family/relative people Start – October-December and February-May (as long as groups are being formed). 3. Traditional and Modern Health Improving Technologies   Course goal – advanced training in the field of traditional and modern health improving technologies. Target audience – persons with higher and secondary vocational education.  Period – 512 hours. Study mode – full-time. Schedule  – full-time lessons during one academic year (September-June), 5 sessions for 2 weeks, 6 hours a day 6 days a week, 36 hours a week. Areas of professional activity: practicing instructor or teaching instructor of health improving physical culture in various sports recreational institutions;   practicing specialist in the field of health improving technologies; teaching and coaching different groups of people with health deviations (children, elderly, disabled people, sportsmen);    health improving technologies for yourself and your family/relative people. Start – September-October (as long as groups are being formed).

Студентов ЮУрГУ приглашают познакомиться с искусственными нейронными сетями

 

В четверг, 7 июля, при поддержке IT-DEPARTMENT ЮУрГУ состоится четвертая  встреча «Machine Learning Сообщества».

Основными задачами мероприятия являются формирование связей между компетентными специалистами и студентами, а также проведение тематических лекций и практик, связанных с углубленным изучением искусственного интеллекта.   

Темы встречи: «Искусственные нейронные сети». Участникам предстоит решить задачи машинного обучения, основанные на реальных данных, используя Python, Numpy, Panads, Scikit-learn, Xgboost, Theano, Lasagne и другие инструменты.
