South Ural State University keeps confidently expanding the boundaries of its international collaboration, and strengthening its positions at the world’s scientific and educational arena. As part of the celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of one of the leading Russian universities, a presentation of a big-scale project, the SUSU’s Pushkin Institute centres network, was held.
South Ural State University, which is participating in the Project 5-100, has launched its own network of centres to promote Russian abroad and increase the quality of education of potential Chinese students before they arrive to study in Russia.
Students of the Beijing Union University, Xuchang University, Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics, Shenyang University of Technology, and a few other partner universities of SUSU have gained the opportunity to take free Russian training courses with the help of Russian teachers.
On December 15 of 2018, South Ural State University is to celebrate the 75th anniversary from its foundation day. Active preparation for the celebration, which is going to take place within five days, 10th through 14th of December, is being carried out at SUSU. Celebratory event programme will include opening of new laboratories and exhibitions, as well as presentations, concerts, flash mobs, contests and more.
A series of celebratory events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the university continues at South Ural State University. On the occasion of the university’s 75th anniversary, Directors of Schools and Institutes awarded letters of appreciation and honorary credentials to outstanding academics and administrative staff.
A festival dedicated to the university’s 75th Anniversary will be held at the Sigma academic building (2nd floor) on December 11th at 13:30. The festival is organised by the SUSU Institute of Linguistics and International Communications.
In November 2018, Tianjin Foreign Studies University hosted participants of the international scientific conference on Linguocultural Values in the Linguistic Consciousness and Communicative Practice, which was also attended by representatives of South Ural State University.
Economy or economics? Second-year students of the SUSU School of Economics and Management answered this and other interesting questions. These students are part of the programme of in-depth language training under Project 5-100.
The ILIC Department of Modern Languages held the Economy Games in English for the first time on November 26th. Two teams fought to be named the winners: the B2 level group of experimental training, and the groups of the elite training zone.
The SUSU Pushkin Institute Research, Education and Coordination Centre continues conducting events aimed at popularisation of the Russian language and culture in the People’s Republic of China. As part of the Centre’s activity, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language of the SUSU Institute of Linguistics and International Communications Elena Doronina has held a workshop in Tianjin Foreign Studies University.
On November 27th a New Vision – 3 Interuniversity Student Science-to-practice Conference was held at the Department of International Relations and Regional Studies of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications, on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of SUSU.
The Pushkin Institute Research, Education and Coordination Centre of SUSU runs a unique professional development course entitled “Development of Original Electronic Course of Russian as a Foreign Language” for lecturers of Russian as a foreign language from the People’s Republic of China. Nearly 20 people have been enrolled on the course.
The heads and members of the project team under М 8.1.3. “Implementing Advanced Language Training in the Bachelor’s Programme” 2.1.1 “Implementing the Best Practices of Language Training in Universities under Programme 5-100” took part in the 5th International Conference on ESP/EAP/EMI in the Context of Higher Education Internationalization.
South Ural State University continues an active work on establishment and development of the partner network of Pushkin Institute Centres in China. The coordinator of the project in the territory of the PRC, learning support specialist of the SUSU Pushkin Institute Centre Tatyana Beloglazova told on the events, which are held at the partner-universities of SUSU.

On November 27, 2018 a NEW VISION 3 All-Russian Scientific Conference, being organised by students and for students, will be held at the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications of South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk).
The conference will touch upon the most topical issues of international relations, regional studies, and political linguistics.
South Ural State University invites international students from China to take part in a new project – a photo competition “Russia and China: Country – Language – Culture”. This event is organised by the SUSU Puskin Institute Research, Education and Coordination Centre.
On October 15, an International Online Olympiad on the Russian Language as a Foreign Language began. Pushkin Institute Research, Education and Coordination Centre organized the Olympiad for the Foreign Students studying abroad as well as at the universities of Russia.
South Ural State University invites teachers of Russian as a foreign language, who are working in Chinese educational institutions, to a free vocational enhancement course entitled «Development of author’s electronic course on Russian as a foreign language”.
This year is the 20th anniversary of profile linguistic education at SUSU. Studying at the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications (ILIC) allows arranging the entire cycle of study at all stages of higher education.
On October 10 and 11, secondary school students of the Sovetsky District of Chelyabinsk got acquainted with South Ural State University in the Palace of Culture named after D.V. Kolyushchenko.
In the hall of the Palace, SUSU schools and institutes presented their sites, where students of 9th -11th grades could learn about the professions and the prospects of studying in these fields.
A Forum of International Students and Alumni of Russian Universities – 2018, participated by SUSU representatives, took place in the city of Vladimir.
The event was held in the frameworks of the Federal grant by Rosmolodezh (Russian Youth) under support of the Global Alumni Alliance.
The Forum is intended to become one of the venues for meetings of international students with alumni in order to discuss issues of their further interaction with Russia in the sphere of public and professional activity.
On October 1, elections of the President of the Association of International Students among South Ural’s universities took place. Student of the SUSU Institute of Linguistics and International CommunicationsUvindu Wijeweera became the leader.
On September 6 and 7, the annual Successful SUSU Festival, organized by Extracurricular Activities Department together with the United Student Council, was held at South Ural State University.
