South Ural State University has improved its standing in the UniRank World University Rankings 2019, having climbed 46 positions up as compared to the last year’s results. In the new issue of the UniRank world ranking, SUSU is in the 1238th place, and among Russian universities it is in the 17th place.
The recent achievement of South Ural State University is that it entered two new rankings: YouTube, and Instagram University Rankings. Among more than 200 Russian universities our university holds the 30th and 49th places respectively. The place calculation is mostly based on the number of followers of the university’s official web-page in these Internet resources.
UniRank University Rankings aims at displaying the approximate ranking of the popularity of the world universities based on the popularity of their web-sites with regard to trust and quality criteria.
Calculation of a university’s place in the ranking is performed using an algorithm comprising 5 independent indices, collected from the following web-metrics: Moz Domain Authority, Alexa Global Rank, SimilarWeb Global Rank, Majestic Referring Domains, Majestic Trust Flow. The main indices to build the ranking on include: web-site traffic, number of links and metrics of the flow, as well as the number of unique visitors and views of the university pages from desktop PCs and mobile devices.
“Not claiming that it ranks universities and their programmes as per quality of education or level of academic services being offered, UniRank aims at helping students, academics and scientists learn about how popular a certain university is in this or that country with regard to its presence in the world-wide web,” comments Head of Academic Rankings Promotion of the International Office Andrey Kocherov.
