On June 5, the 7th Russia-Kyrgyzstan Interregional Conference took place in Chelyabinsk. The main topic of discussion was The Role of Digital Transformation in Economic Integration of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic.
41 students took part in the Conference as volunteers, SUSU students included. Supervisor of the SUSU volunteer event, Veronika Livonchik, told us about selection of students and general responsibilities of volunteers, and shared her emotions:
“Volunteers excellently handled the set goal. The main work was happening at the Conference venue. Students of the first and second years of study turned out to be the most active ones. Unfortunately, many students couldn’t participate because of examination session; still we had a lot of those willing to volunteer, so the event was held at the top level.”
Irina Abdulina, a first-year student of the ISSH, takes active part in the university’s life and didn’t miss the opportunity to participate in the international event.
“This isn’t my first experience of volunteering. For me, such events mean real-life communication with interesting representatives of another country; you need to give a good account for yourself and show your good side. Initially, I was about to work with mass media, in that case my specialty would coincide with handling tasks at the Conference; but in the ultimately I became a volunteer of transport logistics and cargo escorting. I was responsible for welcoming and guiding guests not only in Chelyabinsk but also in Yekaterinburg. At some point, I was acting like an excursion guide,” said the girl.
