On April 14th at 13:00 South Ural State University will become the largest South Ural venue for the all-Russian campaign called Nationwide Dictation Quiz. Starting from today registration for participation opens on totaldict.ru
The campaign has been held in Chelyabinsk for 6 years now, and in 2016 and 2017 the dictation quiz was attended by 1,930 and 2,300 people respectively. Last year our city took the first place as per the number of foreign participants who passed the test called TRUD (the quiz-based tasks specially adapted for foreigners, as well as an abstract from the dictation quiz).
The text to be used for Nationwide Dictation Quiz 2018 was created by poet and writer Guzel Yakhina. She is the author of the novel Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes awarded the Big Book Prize in 2015.
For the quiz participants at South Ural State University the text will be read out by Deputy Minister of Education for the Chelyabinsk Region Elena Zaiko, as well as by lecturers of the SUSU Department of Russian Language and Literature Larisa Vybornova, Larisa Kornilova, and Alena Tezina.
“This campaign is a good opportunity to not just check your literacy skills, but also show that you care about the problems of development of modern Russian language, demonstrate your love of expressive, precise and beautiful Russian words, as well as your interconnectedness with great Russian culture,” says Director of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities Elena Ponomareva.
The SUSU’s international students will have a unique opportunity to pass the quiz in small groups, what makes it more comfortable for them. Moreover, specialists from Russian as a Foreign Language Department of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication work with students since they have a many-years experience in this field.
The Nationwide Dictation Quiz makes it possible for foreign participants to feel part of the global educational space and support intercultural communication.
“Today the Nationwide Dictation Quiz campaign is stepping up to a global scale. SUSU’s foreign partner universities will take part in it in 2018. In March we already held preparatory work for all those willing within the framework of development of Pushkin Institute network in Heihe University,” says the Head of Pushkin Institute Research, Education and Coordination Center Yadviga Berezovskaya.
Participation in the Nationwide Dictation Quiz gives every person a chance to check their knowledge of the Russian language and excites interest in literacy improvement. On April 14th thousands of people will be writing the original-text based quiz, and those who will succeed, will be awarded special gifts from the university partners. Moreover, a souvenir lottery will be held for all participants at the Nationwide Dictation Quiz winners awarding ceremony.
You can pass the Nationwide Dictation Quiz at: Rooms 202, 203, 204, 205, University Building 3г, 87а Lenin Prospect.
