Starting from March 1, 2018, within the framework of supplementary linguistic training program “Lingua” an advanced training course will be launched for subject professors who deliver or are planning to deliver lectures for foreign students in English.
Abroad this methodological phenomenon brought to life due to internationalization of the system of higher education is called English Medium Instruction (EMI) – teaching specialization disciplines in English. This advanced training course “EMI” aims at providing subject professors with the competences required for developing courses, reading lectures and holding seminars for foreign students in English.
The course lasts 60 hours of classes and comprises three main modules:

Module 1 is dedicated to the peculiarities of organization of educational process in English language;

Module 2 includes learning innovative training technologies used to teach disciplines in English; and
-
Module 3 is oriented at studying interactive methods of delivering lectures and holding seminars, and improving the level of academic English.

Requirements to attendees: English level no lower than B2 (Upper-Intermediate). Training period: March 1, 2018 through Many 25, 2018. After the course is successfully completed, a certificate on advanced training is issued for the attendees.
The training is organized within the framework of the Competitiveness Enhancement Program Project 5-100 being fulfilled at SUSU. Project М.2.1.1. “Implementing Best Practices on University Language Training under Program 5-100”. The project manager is Ksenia Volenkova.
