SUSU Participates in New Project Erasmus+

The European Commission supported the realization of the SUSU project on Enhancing University Teaching in Thermal Power Systems for Cleaner Environment with Parallel Improvements in PhD Skills Development. The participants of this project include the SUSU Department of Combustion Engines and Automotive Electronic Systems under the guidance of the Head of the Department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Vladislav Lazarev.

This project was developed along with nine universities from countries of the European Union, Russia, China, and Kazakhstan:

  1. Northumbria University (Newcastle, Great Britain);

  2. Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (Albacete, Spain);

  3. Marche Polytechnic University (Ancona, Italy);

  4. Beijing University of Technology (Beijing, China);

  5. Harbin Engineering University (Harbin, China);

  6. S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University (Astana, Kazakhstan);

  7. S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University (Pavlodar, Kazakhstan);

  8. Bauman Moscow State Technical University (Moscow, Russia); and

  9. South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk, Russia).

The goal of this project is a deeper modernization of the existing academic programs and improving the quality of education and teaching, which includes improving the existing ones and using new academic and teaching instruments, methodologies, and teaching resources.

36 academic modules will undergo modernization in all 6 partner universities (Russia, Kazakhstan, China). Roughly 50% of the content for each of the 36 modules will receive a new structure, tasks, and methods of teaching. As applied to all 6 partner universities the modernized portion of the chosen modules will consist of around 180 ECTS credits. In addition, students will be offered new topics for group or individual projects or research which are closely tied to modern technology for developing combustion engines.

“I’m very happy and would like to express my great satisfaction with the result we have achieved, which is completely thanks to the leadership and staff of the Department of Combustion Engines and Automotive Electronic Systems at SUSU!” shared Doctor of Technical Sciences at SUSU, Vladislav Lazarev.

Participation in the international project and the results achieved will enable the strengthening of the Russian engine building, improve the quality of technical education, and strengthen the defense capabilities of our great country!
