SUSU Rector Meets with Applicants for 2017

This past Sunday in the South Ural State University conference hall, the traditional meeting between the rector and applicants and their parents was held.

The meeting between the university rector Aleksandr Shestakov, traditionally called “Rector’s Hour”, was held July 2nd 2017 in the SUSU conference hall. More than 150 future first-year students and their parents attended the meeting.

The head of the largest university in the South Ural region told the audience about the advantages of enrolling at SUSU and shared his plans for the future.

“Seven years ago, the university received the title National Research University, and two years ago we entered the prestigious 5-100 Program. Among the international academic centers, only 21 universities in the Russian Federation are part of this project. Today, a large number of highly qualified Russian specialists and 50 international professors are working at the university. More than 30 artistic collectives and sport sections are open for the comprehensive development of students. And this is just a small part of our university,” stressed the SUSU rector.

He also spoke about the high quality of education which the university can give to its wards and about the prestige of education in this university.

“In this aspect, the university is one of the best in Russia,” notes Aleksandr Leonidovich.

A large part of the meeting was dedicated to a presentation by the Faculty of Military Training where, from this year, a new program will be open. At this time, it trains officers, sergeants, and soldiers for the tank forces, signals troops, missile troops, and artillery.

One more participant of the meeting was executive secretary of the admissions campaign Aleksandr Gubarev, who spoke to the guests about how to enroll in the university, named the main admissions dates, and answered everyone’s questions. He noted the importance of giving the university original documents and reminded them that they can get extra points during the admissions process.

“Today, more than 1.6 applicants have sent their documents in to the university, and almost all of them showed information about the successes they have had,” said the secretary of the admissions campaign.

This annual meeting helped future students and their parents get answers about all of the questions they had and also learn more about the university and its advantages.
