On March 27, 2017 a unique project will be launched in SUSU. A special guest of the event will be a representative of the Kaspersky Lab transnational company Dmitry Postelnik.
Kaspersky Lab and South Ural State University will open a Research and Education Center "Information Security". The work of the center will be related to the security of information systems, including on the sites of special national importance.
The opening ceremony with the participation of the Rector of SUSU Alexander Shestakov, the Minister of Education and Science Alexander Kuznetsov, the Minister of Information Technology and Communication Alexander Kozlov, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Chelyabinsk region is scheduled for March 27 at 14:00 (room 913, building 3BV of SUSU). Special guests of the event will be representatives of Kaspersky Lab.
"This project gives new opportunities to ensure protection of the information infrastructure of the enterprises and organizations of the Urals. It is no secret that a large number of critical, high-tech and science intensive industries of the defense-industrial sector, Rosatom and Roskosmos enterprises are concentrated here," says the Head of the Department of Educational Programs of Kaspersky Lab Dmitry Postelnik.
Another important field of concern of Kaspersky Lab will be the training of specialists in the field of information security. Cooperation involves joint research work to solve some problems in the field of information technology, radio electronics and automated control systems. The partnership will provide students with the opportunity to gain world-class practice, ensure competitiveness in employment and successful protection of Russia's national interests in the field of information.
"Meetings with representatives of Kaspersky Lab showed mutual interest in the field of graduate training, the organization of joint educational programs and joint research in the field of computer security. Moreover, we agreed to organize a joint massive open online course on cyber security," said Vice-Rector for Informatization of SUSU Leonid Sokolinsky.
