Professor A. P. Isaev was heading the Department of theory and methodology of physical culture and sport in Institute of sport, tourism and service from 1998 till 2013. He was the Vice-President of the Ural Olympic Academy in 1993-1997, nowadays Alexander Isaev is a Director of the research center of sports science of ISTS SUSU.
Area of scientific interests of Professor A. P. Isaev is human adaptation to extreme environmental conditions, ecological and demographic challenges of the South Ural region, issues of improving the health of preschool children and students, the scientific rationale for improving the level of training of athletes of different age and qualification characteristics (reserve opportunities and technology acceleration of regenerative processes), adaptive modeling of the human condition in sports, individualization of training athletes.
A. P. Isaev organized postgraduate and then doctoral studies in the field of “physiology of sport”, “theory and methodology of physical education, sports training, recreational and adaptive physical culture” in 1989. As a member of complex scientific group (CSG) he conducted the research of the USSR and Russian Federation Sambo and judo teams; students and teachers of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district, Yekaterinburg (school of the Olympic reserve), Tyumen (school of high sports mastery).
Professor A. P. Isaev worked as a research consultant on the theory and methodology of physical education in Krasnoyarsk, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg and Belgorod. He created health care system in Chelyabinsk schools such as No. 78, 118, 121, 26, in the Palace of Pioneers and schoolchildren named by N. Krupskaya, led by the school of young researchers and scientific society of students. He had been a member of complex scientific group of the sports Committee of the Russian Federation (formerly USSR) for 18 years. He is a member of the dissertation Council, created on the basis of the South Ural state humanitarian-pedagogical University.
Under supervision of Professor A. P. Isaev 71 researchers defended their candidate and doctoral theses in medical, biological and pedagogical Sciences.
Professor A. P. Isaev is the author of over 550 publications: monographs, textbooks, articles published in Russia and abroad (Spain, USA, Guinea, etc.). He has patents for effective tools of sports training programmes in various areas. Professor A. P. Isaev has developed the concept of social health motivations ensuring the unity of spiritual and physical development.
Over the last 10 years he has been studying problems of acclimatization in the Midlands, the development of local-regional muscular endurance, individualization of sports training.
Prof. A. Isaev is an honored scientist of Russia (1997), high achiever of physical culture (1981), a member of the CSG of the USSR and the Russian Federation (sambo, judo 1978-2001) and the Chelyabinsk region (1983-2015), member of Presidium of the regional Federation of Judo (1997-2000), Sambo (1986 - 2006).
He was awarded the diploma “the Recognition” by South Ural State University (2011); acknowledgement of the chairman of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (2011); acknowledgement of the regional Sambo Federation (2010); diploma of the Ural inter-regional competition “the Universal book” (2013); diploma of the Committee of national and non-olympic sports of Russia (2011); honorary diploma of the South Ural state University (2012).
Nowadays, Professor A. P. Isaev takes a leading place in the ranking of the scientists in sport science.
