First-year students from the Department of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities, majoring in Journalism, have won a competition of socially significant student media projects at the International Interreligious Youth Forum held at the "Russia" National Centre in Moscow.
Representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, representatives of various confessions, and approximately 800 students from Russian and foreign universities took part in the forum.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Grigory Gurov, and representatives of the clergy delivered welcoming remarks.
The main theme of the forum and plenary session was "Eternal Values, Heading to the Future". The event featured discussion sessions such as "Eternal Values in the Age of Smartphones. How to Remain Focused on the Essentials in the Information Noise?", "Faith "Behind the News Feed": The Experience of Spiritual Service in the Special Military Operation Zone", "The Problem of the Meaning of Life. How to Awaken the Need for Moral Growth?", "Science and Religion: Antagonism, Coexistence, or Mutual Assistance," and more.
In anticipation of the event, a competition for socially significant media projects reflecting the key thematic areas of the International Interreligious Youth Forum had been announced among participants of the Regional Student Media Centres of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. Students from the Department of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities and correspondents from the "MediaImpuls" Regional Media Centre of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science in Chelyabinsk had created videos that received high praise from the competition jury.
Student Valeriia Solodiankina took the first place in the "Science and Religion: Antagonism, Coexistence, or Mutual Assistance" category. The collective work of first-year students Sofiia Antropova, Dariia Shleenkova, Alina Gaifullina, and Arina Khuzhina took the third place in the "Music, Cinema, Fashion, and Spiritual Values" category.
"The forum gave us many positive impressions. We listened to interesting presentations and received important professional advice on working on socially significant media projects," said Sofiia Antropova.
