SUSU at Strategic Session at GSOTU: Shaping the Future of Advanced Engineering Schools

The “Heart of the Urals” Advanced Engineering School participated in the “Advanced Engineering Schools: From Launch to Reboot” strategic session held at Grozny State Oil Technical University (GSOTU). The Rector of South Ural State University Alexander Wagner and Director of the “Heart of the Urals” Advanced Engineering School Sergey Taran took part in this big-scale event.

The session included a plenary meeting, working groups, and a presentation of the discussion results. The focus was on analysing the current status and development prospects of advanced engineering schools (AES) in Russia, discussing program implementation challenges and proposing solutions. It was noted that the AES project is supported at the highest level and is aimed at overcoming the shortage of high-tech engineering personnel and updating traditional educational models in the industry.

“As part of the “Advanced Engineering Schools: From Launch to Reboot” strategic session, a meeting of leading engineering universities and advanced engineering schools was held. During the session, participants, headed by Dmitriy Afanasyev, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, discussed the experience of ongoing development programs and shared key points necessary for further successful development of the Advanced Engineering Schools project. Such meetings allow us to check our work with each other and develop new approaches that are more effective in training engineering leaders,” noted Director of the “Heart of the Urals” Advanced Engineering School Sergey Taran.

The Advanced Engineering Schools project is being implemented as part of the Youth and Children national project.
