The 18th All-Russian Science-to-Practice Conference “Innovations in Construction. KNAUF Technologies” opened at the Sigma Academic Complex of South Ural State University on October 17th.
The conference is traditionally organized by South Ural State University and OOO KNAUF GIPS.
The conference brings together students, postgraduates, scientists, and representatives of the construction industry from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, and Chelyabinsk. The morning session was opened by the SUSU Rector Alexander Wagner.
“It is a great honour for the university to act as a platform for this conference,” Alexander Wagner addressed the audience. “I sincerely believe in the energy and enthusiasm of the young researchers gathered here. I would like to express my gratitude to each participant for their contribution to the common cause of improving the training of professional personnel and, thereby, strengthening the positions of the Russian construction industry.”
The conference began with a presentation of the design concept of School 21, developed by specialists of the SUSU Institute of Architecture and Construction.
The conference program includes reports on the application of artificial intelligence in construction works, development of cellular heat-resistant concrete, relevance of modular buildings, and prospects for the development of gypsum board technologies. Some reports will be presented online.
“Back in 2004, on the tenth floor of the main university building, the first conference was held as a result of an agreement between SUSU and the KNAUF Group of Companies. It was the very first conference organized in Russia, and after that we began to meet annually,” recalls the Director of the SUSU Institute of Architecture and Construction Aleksandr Kiianets. “The KNAUF Group is an international organization that unites over 200 companies worldwide. This format of collaboration is important for both businesses and universities; it helps our students, the future professionals, make the right and justified choice among construction technologies.”
The results of the conference will be wrapped up after 19:00, and the best reports by young researchers will be awarded.
