On October 8th, Anton Korzhov, First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for Research at South Ural State University and Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), participated in a meeting of the Council of the National Research and Education Network for Machine Tool Engineering Consortium, held at the Crocus Expo IEC in Moscow.
The main topic of the meeting was uniting the industry's strengths: developing a common scientific and technical program, building human resources, and exploring growth opportunities for machine tool engineering in Russia.
The need to train future specialists in this field using an approach that seamlessly integrates theory and practice was repeatedly raised. This is precisely how students at the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology are trained: industrial enterprises in our region participate in organizing of the educational process, offering future engineers and technologists the opportunity to gain practical experience in this field.
"The National Research and Education Network for Machine Tool Engineering Consortium unites leading Russian universities engaged in scientific research and training specialists for the machine tool industry. It was created to coordinate the efforts of educational institutions and industrial enterprises to address key challenges in manufacturing automation, design, and engineering of machine tool equipment," the event organizers report.
It is also important to note that both the meeting and the work of the Consortium itself are being carried out within the framework of the "Science and Personnel for Manufacturing the Means of Production and Automation" federal project.
