SUSU Alumnus Wins the Chessboxing World Championship as a Member of the Team of Russia

Two athletes from the Chelyabinsk Region participated in the tournament: SUSU alumnus and two-time Chessboxing World Champion Amina Akhmadulina and Sergey Faizulloev.

At the tournament held in Serbia, the team of Russia took the first place having gotten ahead of their opponents from the USA and France. Amina was among those who won gold medals for our national team.

This was not the first tournament of this kind for Amina Akhmadulina. Earlier she had become a silver medallist in the World Championship, and she also had twice become the strongest one on the planet. The SUSU alumnus managed to defend her title of the World Champion: in the final encounter she scored off an athlete from Germany, Alina Rath.

According to the World Championship results the team medal count is as follows: 1st place — Russia, 2nd place — USA, 3rd place — France.
