Another all-Russian contest for grant support for startup projects of students and postgraduates, “Student Startup” (6th wave), has wrapped up. The jury selected 2500 winners who will receive one million roubles each for the development of their projects. Among them are students from South Ural State University, who have once again confirmed the high level of competence in the field of technological entrepreneurship.
The Chelyabinsk Region can be rightfully proud of its young talents: 18 students out of 24 regional winners are from SUSU.
“My sincere congratulations to all the winners of the grant program and I feel proud of each student,” noted the Rector Alexander Wagner. “Our university has done a great job of building an ecosystem for the development of technological entrepreneurship and the result has exceeded all expectations! I wish the students successful implementation of their projects and further growth.”

Many of today’s winners had taken training in the 2024 SUSU Accelerator, a business intensive aimed at turning ideas into real business projects, or had defended their qualifying diploma papers in the “Startup as a Diploma” format, which allowed them to thoroughly develop their projects and win a grant. Consultations with specialists at the SUSU Boiling Point and the Centre for the Development of Entrepreneurial Initiatives played a major role in the process of preparing grant applications.
Aspiring entrepreneurs can sign up for the new season of the SUSU Accelerator already now. This is an excellent opportunity for all South Ural students, postgraduates, graduates and staff members of Chelyabinsk universities not only to refine their business ideas, but also to significantly increase their chances of winning the next “Student Startup” contest. Program participants get access to experts, mentors, business coaches and university resources: everything they need to successfully prepare their project.
