Thus, the SUSU Recreation Centre has existed at the university since 1999. Over the years, more than 30 student teams have been created, like an academic choir and a jazz orchestra, a fashion theatre and a poetry club. Instrumental, vocal, choreographic and theatrical directions are available to students.

The university has a modern sports base: the Sports Palace and the Educational and Sports Complex. They include specialized sports halls, 4 gyms, the Universitetsky shaping centre, a 50-meter Olympic-standard swimming pool with 10 lanes, and an athletics arena. Students play a variety of sports: from football and hockey to weightlifting and wrestling. Dozens of intra-university competitions and Spartakiads are held annually.
Some of the sports that you can practice include: volleyball, basketball, speed skating, orienteering, football, speed skating, sambo wrestling, judo, arm wrestling, kettlebell lifting, powerlifting, weightlifting, chess, badminton, swimming, ice hockey, table tennis, cross-country skiing, kickboxing, boxing, and hang gliding.
Students participate in sports events, such as intra-faculty Spartakiads, where the number of competitions held reaches 20 types. There are also competitions in billiards, bowling, rifle sh
ooting, winter and summer biathlon, hang gliding, paintball, and alpine skiing.

In addition to creativity and sports, the active life of the university is represented by a variety of clubs and organizations: debates, volunteers, KVN league, tourist and search teams, patriotic movement, media centres, and intellectual game clubs.
