The Chairperson of the regional branch of the Russian Professorial Assembly (RPA) for the Chelyabinsk Region, Doctor of Sciences (Philology), Professor, Director of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Lidiya Lobodenko represented the higher education of the Chelyabinsk Region at the annual Professorial Forum, which took place in Moscow on November 13th and 14th, under the auspices of the RPA with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
The main agenda of the 7th Professorial Forum was the topic "Education, Science, Family - the Foundations of Russia's Development". More than 1500 participants discussed issues of strengthening the socio-cultural identity of the Russian society and raising the level of its education.
Among the speakers at the round tables and sections were representatives of legislative and executive authorities, government and public figures, including Chairman of the RPA Vladislav Grib; Deputy Secretary of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Vladimir Filippov; Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the RPA, President of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Education, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko; Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov; President of the Russian Academy of Education Olga Vasilyeva, and others. Rectors of leading Russian universities also actively participated in the events.
"Every year, the forum becomes a place where the vector of higher education development in Russia is formed in the format of lively discussions. There is an exchange of best practices between representatives of universities," noted Lidiya Lobodenko. "The most important achievement of the organizers is the creation of conditions for a constructive dialogue between the leaders and representatives of legislative and executive authorities, the scientific, rector's and academic corps, and leaders of business communities."
Traditionally, the forum was held at the venues of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Education, and leading Russian universities. The forum included a plenary session and thematic sections: "Vector of Higher Education Development: Strategy and Tactics", "International Activities of Universities", "Joint Meeting of Public Councils under Federal Education and Science Supervision Service, the Ministry of Education of Russia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia", "Section of University Presidents", "Best Practices of Universities in Educating Young People", "State Regulation of Educational Activities", "Scientometric Assessment of Scientific Activities, Intellectual Property and Digital Technologies", and more than 20 scientific and industry sections.
The forum also included an awards ceremony for the winners of the national prizes of the Russian Professorial Assembly.

The Russian Professorial Assembly is an all-Russian public organization. It was created in 2016 and unites more than 6000 professors from 185 universities in Russia. The regional branch of the RPA in the Chelyabinsk Region currently unites the teaching staff of eight leading universities in our region: SUSU, Chelyabinsk State University, South Ural State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University, South Ural State Medical University, Ural State University of Physical Education, Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture and Arts, South Ural State Agrarian University, and Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University.
