SUSU Became the First among Chelyabinsk Universities to Fill All its State-funded Places!

A ceremony of signing four orders for admission of applicants for state-funded form of study (Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Specialist degree) took place at South Ural State University. Postgraduate students also enrolled.

Today, 2165 people enrolled in state-funded places. The work of the Admissions Committee continues, because the acceptance of documents for the contract-based form of study for the 2024/2025 academic year will be completed on August 30th.

“This year, we have prepared three large spaces for a whole range of new educational programmes. In less than a month, renovation works will be completed there, and first-year students will start their training in modern classrooms. Soon we will open “School 21”: a free school of digital technologies by Sber company. All our students will be able to study relevant IT areas,” said SUSU Rector Alexander Wagner.

The Rector noted the fact that our university always fulfils the state task, providing a full set of state-funded places. For the first time, a record number of winners and prize-winners of the Russian Council of School Olympiads (25 people) enrolled without entrance examinations.

“A large number of people enrolled under a separate quota. And for the participants of the Special Military Operation (SVO), all conditions were created for comfortable passing of exams and admission,” said Yuliia Bolotina, Head of the Department for Strategic Work with Applicants.

Among those who had the advantage of the support measures for SVO participants was Albert Zainullin, who had been awarded the highest title: Hero of Russia. He applied for training in the State and Municipal Administration programme of the Institute of Open and Distance Education of South Ural State University for full-time/part-time mode of study. Albert became especially interested in studying in this area after talking with the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexey Texler.

Starting from the new academic year, SUSU provides training of highly qualified engineering personnel based on the “Heart of the Urals” Advanced Engineering School of Engine Building and Special Equipment. This is a federal project launched on the initiative of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin in 2022. It is aimed at training qualified engineering personnel for high-tech sectors of the economy.

“Our future students received an excellent opportunity to form new knowledge and competencies, gain experience in solving research problems based on requests that we fulfil with the industrial partners of our university. Master’s degree programmes have been designed for this academic year, and enrolment was successful. The team of the best has been selected!” said Director of the School Sergey Taran.
