SUSU Hosted a Day of Individual Consultations for State-funded Applicants

On July 27th, a Day of Individual Consultations for applicants and their parents was held at South Ural State University, where future students became more familiar with the university and student life.

Experts from the Admissions Committee, directors of schools and institutes of the university answered all applicants’ questions about admission, areas of training, tuition discounts and scholarships.

"Today’s meeting is devoted to issues related to the methodology of admission to the university for state-funded places, accommodation in dormitories, including in hostels of the new inter-university campus. Everyone went on an excursion to Dormitory No. 7, located next to the university, and Dormitory No. 9. Applicants and their parents once again met with the directors of the schools and institutes where they are applying to learn more about studying in their chosen areas," said Iuliia Bolotina, Head of the Department for Strategic Work with Applicants, First Deputy Chairperson of the SUSU Admissions Committee.

As part of the Day of Individual Consultations, children who came from neighbouring cities, regions and countries talked with the director of the campus, which includes 10 dormitories, where about 5000 people live annually.

"Most of our dormitories are located in close proximity to all academic buildings of SUSU. Each dormitory is assigned to a specific institute, and if applicants note that they need a dormitory when submitting applications, me make a rollout and begin distribution based on it. The right to choose a dormitory belongs only to those students who enter the university without entrance examinations and those with scores above 240. There is also the opportunity to live in new hostels on the inter-university campus in superior rooms," noted Iuliia Bolotina.

Young men entering SUSU got acquainted with the activities of the Military Training Centre, where they train specialists in 16 military specialties. Graduates are enlisted in the reserves of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation without having to undergo military service and can build their career in law enforcement agencies or in public service.
