July 8th through July 11th of 2024, INNOPROM-2024 International Industrial Exhibition is being held in Ekaterinburg. At the collective stand of the Chelyabinsk Region, South Ural State University is presenting its developments in the fields of nutrition, ecology, metallurgy, transport mechanical engineering, and new technologies and materials. All the inventions are intended for achieving the technological sovereignty by our country.
The 2024 theme of our country's main industrial exhibition is "Technological Partnerships: Shaping the Future". The exhibition participants include 46 countries, more than 700 Russian and international exhibitors, and around 60 representatives of Russian regions. This time the United Arab Emirates act as the partner country in the organization and holding of this exhibition. Events within the business agenda of the exhibition are being held with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov, and other top managers.
The exhibition visitors will see the results of work by the leading researchers from South Ural State University, who are engaged in developments under the regional project office of the World-class Ural Interregional Research and Education Centre (UIREC). At the stand of the Chelyabinsk Region our university displayed twelve exhibits, including a model of a unique МЦМЭ-500 public works truck, prototypes of below-knee prosthesis and prosthetic foot made of polymer and composite materials, new sorbents for water treatment, smart biodegradable biosensor films, dry concentrates of nutraceutical beverages with improved benefits, model of ЭГУМ-10 electrohydraulic power amplifier, and other inventions.
"Today we are presenting only the most recent developments of our university," said SUSU Rector Alexander Wagner. "Among the most promising ones are the composites for the creation of leg prostheses, which are very much in demand right now. The main goal of the SUSU participation in this year's INNOPROM is namely to demonstrate our scientific and technological capacity, so that we could find new partners, customers, and new production sites where we could bring to life the ideas and developments by our university. This exhibition is a milestone event as it does indeed make it possible to gather together many interested parties and discuss future projects. For instance, the previous INNOPROM resulted in our opening of a new faculty jointly with Konar Group of Companies. This year we also have some ideas, but I would rather keep them a secret for now."
The SUSU First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for Research Anton Korzhov noted that a number of crucial scientific projects have been implemented with the support from the Chelyabinsk Region:
"These are a number of projects within the development of import-substituting technologies, projects related to mechanical engineering and use of composite materials, a new project on computer vision jointly with Yuzhnouralsk Insulators Plant, as well as a number of sensorics related projects developed by our university's researchers. As our exhibits we selected those that have industrial partners in the Chelyabinsk Region or have their own market for sales. These are the projects, which have already progressed from fundamental development to the applied stage."
The SUSU delegation at INNOPROM includes 24 members. Scientists will take part in the business program devoted to innovations in industry, digital production, industrial infrastructure, and educational solutions for industry.
In addition, during day one of the industrial exhibition, SMAR technology company from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and SUSU representatives held negotiations on the prospects of industrial interaction. The developers of digital control and measuring instruments from Brazil sell their flow-measuring products in fifty countries around the world. The company wishes to settle in the Russian market and is ready for active collaboration with Metran Industrial Group from Russia with direct interaction with researchers from South Ural State University.
"We have agreed on our further trilateral interaction between SUSU, SMAR technology company and Metran company. Our colleagues from Brazil and we are interested in working with this company from Chelyabinsk since flow-measuring is also their field of expertise," commented SUSU First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for Research Anton Korzhov. "This is a good opportunity to promote developments by SUSU scientists among countries of the far abroad. And the most important thing is that if our university and production companies join forces, we could produce flowmeters of higher quality."
