SUSU Stars – 2024: Outstanding Graduates Share Their Best Memories. Part 2

Polina Demchenko, graduate of the Institute of Media and Social and Humanitarian Sciences, majoring in Philology

SUSU became a separate 4-year life for me. You know how summer usually feels like a small life? It's the same here.

The teachers opened for me the infinitely beautiful world of literature and the infinitely rich world of the Russian language. In general, if you think that philologists only read books and correct your mistakes, then... yes, that’s true, but in fact, we also understand computers. Our department, headed by Tatyana Fedorovna Semyan, even runs the Virtual Museum of Writers of the Southern Urals (our students publish articles there together with teachers), and my classmate and I created a website on Chernyshevsky as a course work in the 3rd year.

The university also offers the opportunity to obtain an additional specialty. Last year I graduated with intercultural communication and translation from English and left with the best impressions (and knowledge).

Education at SUSU can truly be considered a good base for both a career and life in general.

Anastasia Gorskikh, graduate of the Higher Medical and Biological School, direction of training “Psychology of professional activity”

Five years ago I entered South Ural State University, and during this time I have never regretted my choice. The high level of teaching staff ensures excellent quality of both fundamental and applied education. Studying here allowed me to participate in sports, creative and, of course, scientific activities. I am proud that my Alma mater is SUSU!

Marina Antipova, graduate of the Higher School of Economics and Management, majoring in Economics

In fact, at first I was very worried when I entered SUSU. I had to move to Chelyabinsk, to a completely unfamiliar city. But SUSU gave me the best study group in the entire university, allowed me to discover my potential and try my hand at completely different areas of extracurricular activities. It was this symbiosis of study and various competitions, conferences, and positions that gave me that unforgettable experience and self-confidence that is so helpful now when looking for a job. I can advise freshmen to participate in everything that is offered to you: go to Olympus, join the student council, go to the Olympiad in another city, write an article. Believe me, something will definitely draw you in and help you in the future. I have never regretted that I came here. HSEU is in business and in heart.

Kristina Alferova, graduate of the Multidisciplinary College of ISTiS, majoring in Tourism

Wonderful student years were endowed not only with painstaking work, but also with joyful moments. SUSU gave athletes the opportunity to continue their sports activities, I played basketball, participated in cross-country skiing. Also, each student has the opportunity to implement their ideas and projects, together with teachers we developed an original fitness tracking tour, an improved tour along the South Ural trail and much more. But most of all I want to note the opportunity to study at the center of additional education, as this gives the opportunity to get two specialties at once that will be needed in life, I was getting an education as a specialist in the field of tourism, I was able to simultaneously study as an instructor of physical education and fitness technologies, which will allow me to implement new exciting projects where it is necessary to have the skills of both specialties. I am also very grateful to the teaching staff, most of them are real professionals.

Vasilisa Nemchinova, graduate of ISTS, direction of training “Technology of artistic processing of materials”

Over the 4 years of study, I learned, one of the main things, to set priorities. This is very important in life itself. When you work, study and at the same time are involved in extracurricular activities. And when there are a lot of extracurricular activities, you have to choose. And SUSU teaches you to realize what is important for you and what can be left in the background.

After finishing school, my choice of universities fell immediately on SUSU. I liked the educational system (and I was aware of it in advance), and I was also attracted by the university's prestige. After admission, my decision in choosing was only reinforced. Important adaptation at the university was successful thanks to the Student Mentoring System. Here my path in extracurricular activities began and, of course, a globally positive impression. Many development trajectories in addition to training and additional education. I am very pleased that SUSU employees try to create conditions for their students and know how to encourage.

I would like to wish the university more talented and enthusiastic students with sparkling eyes for their work. Prosperity and success in university rankings.

Nikita Kalyazin, graduate of the Higher School of Electronics and Computer Science, majoring in information security of automated systems

My impressions of studying at SUSU are positive. In my opinion, the most important thing that this university can provide is opportunities for self-realization and a good theoretical basis in terms of training. Here I managed to try to implement a large number of my ideas.

Also at SUSU you can find a great community, communicate and work with sympathetic people.

I wish future first-year students to remain themselves and not be afraid to develop, to offer new initiatives. And SUSU - to reach new heights every time!
