Victory Day is approaching. A traditional military parade will be held in the central square of Chelyabinsk on May 9th. As usual, the staff of the SUSU Military Training Centre will take part in it.
Two "boxes" of students – students of the Centre led by officers – will solemnly march along the Revolution Square. Now training is underway on the territory of the Military Training Centre: the guys are learning how to hold the line beautifully.
"Such events are a duty of memory, a tribute to our ancestors. We all must remember: without their great feat, without their victory over Nazism, we simply would not exist in the world!" noted Head of the Department of General Military Training at the Military Training Centre, Colonel Viktor Tishkin.
Participation is totally voluntary. Several hundred students of the Military Training Centre have expressed their desire to join the parade, of which about two hundred were selected: the main team and reserves in case of unforeseen situations.
"I’m glad that I was selected to participate in the parade," one of them, Andrei Makhinia, shared his emotions. "I feel proud of our country and of my ancestors! I will try to take part in the solemn march next year as well."
Not only physical condition was taken into account during the selection, but also the ability to maintain posture: everything must be impeccable at a celebration in honour of the main holiday of our country.
"We all feel responsible and try to comply with a decent level," said future parade participant, student Aleksandr Korotkov. "Of course, I feel proud of Russia and of my grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who won the most terrible war in the entire history of the world. For me, the solemn march is a tribute to our veterans."
The SUSU Military Training Centre traditionally pays a lot of attention to the civic and patriotic education of youth. Participation in events dedicated to Great Victory Day is the most important part of this work.
