On day two of the Projects and Analytical Session, SUSU's lead staff members determined the prospects and horizons for the development of our university. At the plenary session, the dynamics of changes in the university in retrospect were considered, and the main vectors for its improvement in the context of modern challenges were identified.
The plenary session included presentations of the reports by working parties on the selection of available forms of expanding the university’s partner network, organization of work with human capital, and the formation of the most effective models of educational policy and research leadership.
The options for university management strategies outlined in the reports received collective and expert assessment of their potential effectiveness.
"The Priority 2030 program necessarily implies obtaining of a result in the form of a product, which is of certain value for academic and industrial partners. This can be technology, a new management strategy, or a graduate specialist. In this context, such a tool for achieving product effectiveness as the creation of a consortium is of particular importance. A competent system of division of labour between the consortium and the university will lead to the creation of a new useful product. However, the emergence of consortia also requires updating the university management system," says Pavel Volegov, expert at the Sociocenter Federal State Autonomous Scientific Institution.
The topics of working with human capital and establishing new working principles for educational policy deserved special attention. At the meeting, the dynamics of transformation of educational policy were considered, and emphasis was placed on achieving a useful partnership between employers and the university. The question was also raised regrading the forms of supporting work with scientific teams within the framework of the international educational and scientific agenda to ensure the competitiveness of domestic developments.
"The upcoming tasks of SUSU are an even greater reorientation of scientific research towards practical developments, training of personnel aimed at working in their specialty, searching for industrial and academic partnerships with enterprises and scientific organizations as part of the work of inter-university campus from 2026," comments Leonid Shipulin, Head of the SUSU Research and Innovation Services.
It was noted that the university is achieving significant success in international publishing activity and attracting funding for scientific research. Current and future development strategies of SUSU are aimed at integrating developments and scientific potential into the real sector of the economy.
