In addition to the already well-known ARKTIKA Arctic bus, SUSU engineers presented other promising developments as part of their participation in the ARMY 2023 International Military Technical Forum.
One of the exhibits is a prototype of an electric street sweeping vehicle, which South Ural State University is currently developing jointly with the Kurgan Road Machinery Plant.
"The main idea and the task that we are facing is to make this machine fully electric in order to ensure quiet operation in the urban sector, adjacent territories, and also to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere," said Sergei Taran, Director of the SUSU Computer Engineering Centre.
One more development of the SUSU engineers is a sweeper and blower machine designed for cleaning runways. This project is being implemented as part of import substitution and was created on the basis of existing prototypes with the participation of industrial partners of the university.
Also on the fourth day of the forum, a meeting was held between the leading research fellow, Candidate of Sciences (Engineering), Associate Professor at the Department of Automobile Transport of South Ural State University and a representative of JSC Research and Production Enterprise "Radar MMS" − one of the leaders in the field of creating radio-electronic systems and complexes, precision instrumentation, and software.
The issues of cooperation, namely the possibility of joint development of the project "AIMS ECO Solution for Monitoring Emissions of Harmful Substances from Vehicles", were discussed at the meeting. The participants of the meeting noted high prospects for cooperation and implementation of the project not only in cities, but also for military tasks.
