SUSU Department of Psychology of Management and Service Activity Participates in Conferences of the Federal Level

The final months of the outgoing year have been marked by a number of major scientific events in the life of the Faculty of Psychology of South Ural State University. Students and academic staff members of the Department of Psychology of Management and Service Activity took part in online conferences of the federal level.

In November 2020, a student of Group МБ-476 Natalia Ryzhkova presented a report in “Lomonosov” international scientific conference for students, postgraduates and young scientists, which is traditionally organized by Lomonosov Moscow State University. Within the frameworks of the section “Organizational Psychology in the Developing World”, the student shared the results of the study of psychological resources of a person in the context of entrepreneurial activity.

“For the first time I have participated in an online conference of Lomonosov Moscow State University. This experience is really important for me as a student and also inspiring as a future specialist. The conference helped me understand that I can and will be moving in the direction of psychological science,” says Natalia.

Held early in December in St. Petersburg, the scientific conference “Ananiev Readings-2020: Traditions and Modernity” in its main topic on the Psychology of Military, Enforcement and Governmental Services: Achievements and Development Prospects (in Honour of the 75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945) happened to be in sync with the leading direction of training at the Department of Psychology of Management and Service Activity. This department was organised on the basis of the Department of Developmental Psychology and Age Related Counselling and has changed its name not so long ago. The new name and new status reflect the modern and demanded fields of training: Psychology of Service Activity (Specialist degree programme), and Psychology in Management and Business Systems (Master's degree programme). At the conference, our university was represented by a series of topical scientific research studies on psychological issues.

In the beginning of December, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology of Management and Service Activity Ekaterina Shchelokova was nominated by the first All-Russian Competition for Young Researchers in the Field of Correctional Pedagogy and Special Psychology, organized by the Institute of Correctional Pedagogy of the Russian Academy of Education, Moscow.

“For me, participation in the competition was an excellent opportunity to continue fruitful collaboration with my colleagues and join the scientific discussion by our country's leading scientists in the field of correctional pedagogy and psychology,” noted Ekaterina Shchelokova.

The competition was held in three stages. Out of 896 participants, 42 young researchers made it to the finals. Ekaterina Shchelokova presented her project on the Formation of Means of Communication for Young Children with Speech Acquisition Disorders as a Technology of Early Correctional Assistance and a Resource for the Viability of Modern Families. The work had been conducted in the scientific direction of the Development of Human Viability in Various Life Conditions, at the Department of Psychology of Management and Service Activity, and was implemented jointly with researchers from South Ural State Humanitarian Pedagogical University.
