The ceremony of awarding the scholarships by the Chelyabinsk Region Legislative Assembly to postgraduates and students of organisations of professional education and educational institutions of higher education was held at South Ural State University. The event was conducted by the deputy of the Legislative Assembly, SUSU Rector Aleksandr Shestakov.
Support for youth and students takes up a special place in the activities of the regional parliament. The scholarship is awarded for special accomplishments in studies, social life, achievements in science, and creative activities.
“The Chelyabinsk Region Legislative Assembly organizes the event annually. We always carefully approach the process of selecting applicants for the scholarship. This is a deserved award for the best ones. You are the future drivers of the development of our region. We rely on you and hope that you will be developing the Chelyabinsk region and ensuring its competitiveness on the territory of the Russian Federation,” said Aleksander Shestakov in his welcome speech to the holders of the scholarship.
This year, 12 SUSU students were awarded the scholarship of the Legislative Assembly:

- Idgar Tlyaumbetov;
- Egor Ustinov;
- Olga Zaitseva (postgraduate);
- Alena Zykova (postgraduate);
- Azaliya Pushkina (postgraduate);
- Nikita Savosteenko (postgraduate);
- Aleksey Tolmachev (student of Multidiscipline College).
“It is good to know that my accomplishments have been noted. At the university, I studied really hard and received various awards in science, creativity and volunteering. I was really good at writing scientific articles. I see myself in science, in economics, they are my fields of interest. At the same time, I am eager to develop in other directions. I love dancing very much, I received various awards for this. Also, I was the head of a student association. I am really impressed and have only positive emotions and glad that it happened this way,” shared her emotions Anna Galaktionova, 4th-year student of the SUSU School of Economics and Management.
The scholarship was also awarded to:
- Maria Ershova (SSFIPE Chelyabinsk Motor Transport Vocational School);
- Zufar Muslimov (SSFIPE Chelyabinsk Radio Engineering Vocational School);
- Aleksandr Shelest (SSFIPE Chelyabinsk Radio Engineering Vocational School);
- Vera Demidova (SSFIPE Chelyabinsk Motor Transport Vocational School);
- Anastasiia Bokoch (SSFIPE Chelyabinsk Medical Vocational Education Institution).
“Over four years, I have been actively engaging in educational and volunteering activities. It is good to know that my merits are approved of and noticed,” said Anastasia Bokoch, 4th-year student of the Chelyabinsk Medical Vocational Education Institution.
The scholarship is assigned by the decision of the Presidium of the Chelyabinsk Region Legislative Assembly at the end of an academic year to residents of the Russian Federation studying in a full-time format in organisations of professional education and educational institutions of higher education located in the Chelyabinsk Region.
The holders of the scholarship can be chosen from students of organisations of professional educational, students and postgraduates of educational institutions of higher education for their special achievements in studies, creative, social, scientific, or experimental-design activities, confirmed by publications in scientific journals, patents for inventions, diplomas and other documents, or for victories and prize-winning places in international, Russian, and regional competitions, parades, Olympiads, or exhibitions.
Those, who are awarded the scholarship, are given a certificate of the Chelyabinsk Region Legislative Assembly. The candidates for the scholarship are nominated by educational organisations in coordination with the deputies of the Chelyabinsk Region Legislative Assembly.
The annual awarding ceremony is held at the Hall of the Chelyabinsk Region Legislative Assembly. This year, due to the current epidemiological situation, it was organized at South Ural State University.
